F-1400 Starwolf Flexwing Astro Fighter, Starcom The U.S. Space Force by Coleco 1986
The F-1400 Starwolf Flexwing Astro Fighter was released by Coleco for their Starcom toyline based on "Starcom: The U.S. Space Force," a syndicated animated TV series from 1987, inspired by the motorized toy franchise created by Coleco. The characters were adapted for animation under the guidance of the series creator, Brynne Stephens, who also served as the show's story editor. Produced by DIC Animation City and distributed by Coca-Cola Telecommunications, the series followed the exciting adventures of an American astronaut brigade defending against invasions by the sinister Shadow Force, led by the nefarious Emperor Dark. Although the toy line gained popularity in Europe and Asia, it didn't perform well in the North American domestic market. Notably, the show was developed in collaboration with the Young Astronauts’ Council, aiming to ignite young viewers’ interest in NASA's Space Program. Despite its noble intentions, the series struggled with low ratings and was eventually canceled after just 13 episodes. In later years, it found a new audience through reruns during DIC and Pax TV's "Cloud Nine" programming strand in the late 1990s.Buy vintage toys online, only here at ToySack.
