Neutra-Laser (Blue) Mint Working Sounds, BraveStarr Action Figure Toy Line by Mattel 1988
Bravestarr Neutra-Laser (Blue Variant)
By Mattel, 1986
Straight out of New Texas and into your vintage arsenal is this rare Blue Neutra-Laser, part of Mattel’s Bravestarr line—one of the most ambitious toy-tech crossovers of the ’80s! Known for pushing the limits of interactive play, the Neutra-Laser was an IR (infrared) light gun that could actually shoot and receive invisible signals from other Bravestarr weapons and gear. Yes, it was one of the few toys of the era that let kids battle each other with laser-precise “hits,” long before Nerf or laser tag toys became standard fare.
This blue version is among the harder-to-find color variants, and it’s absolutely packed with classic space-western flair: engraved chrome-effect decals, a working scope, and of course, that iconic oversized sci-fi barrel design straight from the show’s universe.
🔫 Action Feature: Shoots and receives IR beams for indoor or outdoor battles.
📺 Trivia: The Bravestarr cartoon was developed by Filmation, the same studio behind He-Man. It was one of the first shows to introduce a Native American lead hero in sci-fi animation, blending space-age tech with old-west themes.
🎯 Display or Play: Whether you’re setting up a collection shelf or planning an IR shootout, this piece delivers both nostalgia and functionality.
